Except in areas with long cold winters, this tree is adaptable to different climates with hot summers. This tree typically has 3-5 stems if it is one of the modern types and is healthy. The tree is extremely sensitive to cold andthey can be tolerant of moderate frost, down to about −12 °C. These trees grow quickly and produce many suckers and body rashes. Mature trees can reach up to 12 feet in height, making them a good candidate for training up a scaffold or pillar if you like. Their flowers have two types: the first type is fruitful that are larger than the other type. Some fruitless varieties are grown for the flowers alone. The second type is barren, this type is smaller than fruitful flowers. It is certain that pomegranate cultivation has been common since ancient times. Pomegranate trees have glossy leaves.
